This paper has been conceived as an answer to the UN call to educators of all levels and subjects to contribute to a correct perception of the state of the world and prepare citizens for decision-making, generating responsible attitudes and behavior oriented towards the attainment of culturally plural and physically sustainable development. This task can be undertaken through Chemistry Education and could help to overcome the usual prejudices against chemists´ work.
