O pensamento geométrico na licenciatura em Matemática: uma análise à luz de Duval e Van-Hiele

Abstract

Nesta pesquisa, analisamos o pensamento geométrico de estudantes da licenciatura em Matemática de uma universidade em Pernambuco. Fundamentamo-nos na Teoria dos Registros de Representação Semiótica de Duval (1995), que apresenta um modelo teórico sobre o funcionamento cognitivo no campo da Geometria e na teoria de desenvolvimento do pensamento geométrico de Van-Hiele (1957), que indica um modelo de níveis de compreensão dos conceitos geométricos. Participaram da pesquisa 34 acadêmicos que já tinham cursando disciplinas relacionadas à Geometria. Esses participantes responderam uma questão que abordou o conceito de quadriláteros notáveis. Os resultados indicaram que quase a metade desses participantes atuava na apreensão perceptiva de Duval (1995) e no primeiro nível de Van-Hiele (1957), caracterizados pela identificação das figuras geométricas em um plano ou espaço por meio da aparência física. Concluímos que a articulação entre as teorias de Duval (1995) e de Van-Hiele (1957) possibilitou uma melhor compreensão do pensamento geométrico dos estudantes. Palavras-chave: Duval. Van-Hiele.
