This study introduces a new topology of three-phase buck/boost inverter which can produce the ac voltage output higher than the input voltage source. The performance of proposed three-phase hybrid switched-boost inverter (hSBI) is similar to that of three-phase quasi Z-source inverter (qZSI). In comparison with the three-phase qZSI, the introduced three-phase hSBI uses one less inductor and one more diode. The comprehensive analysis in the operation modes, comprehensive comparisons with the three-phase qZSI, and simulation results are presented. Finally, the experimental test based on a laboratory prototype has been carried out to confirm practicality of the introduced three-phase hSBI.
