Abstract

La musicologie est une science recente au Bresil. Quelques figures exceptionnelles se sont interessees a la modinha bresilienne (poesie lyrique heritee de la tradition portugaise), precurseurs de l'ethnomusicologie sur les musiques populaires bresiliennes, tels Mario Raul de Moraes Andrade (1893-1945) et Luis Heictor Correa de Azvedo (1905-1992). Cet article presente les successeurs de ces ethnomusicologues et expose un bilan des etudes consacrees a la modinha.
