Over the last few years, valuable material of Menispermaceae has been collected in various parts of Thailand by Dr H. Banziger, an entomologist working with UNDP-FAO Plant Protection Project in Bangkok. He has generously made available to me the results of his extensive knowledge of the plants in the field, together with colour photographs and specimens both dried and in spirit. I am pleased to acknowledge the valuable co-operation I have received from Dr Banziger. The results of his extensive assistance with Tinospora in Thailand will appear in a later paper containing a revision of that genus. The species described and discussed in the present account are based largely on specimens collected by Dr Banziger.
