Abstract

Proleptus niedmanni sp. n. (Nematoda: Spiruroidea) from a shark, Schoroederichthys chilensis (Gui- chenot), in southern Chile is described and compared with other species of the genus Proleptus Dujardin and distinguished from them by the number and the distribution of papillae of the caudal alae.
