The intestinal contents of 213 migratory Anas spp. were examined for coccidia. The waterfowl were collected during their southward migration in the autumns of 1976 and 1977. Feces were removed from the intestinal tract and cloaca and examined for coccidia. Positive samples sporulated only when aerated in 2.5% K2Cr207. Five species of ducks harbored coccidia identified as Tyzzeria pellerdyi Bhatia and Pande 1966 (Table I); a total of 25 ducks was infected, giving an overall prevalence of 11.7%. This report of T. pellerdyi in central flyway ducks represents the first documentation of this parasite on an American continent. In addition, all hosts listed, except A. strepera, are new records of hosts for this coccicium.
