Diclidophora embiotocae sp. n. (Monogenea, Diclidophoridae), a Parasite of Embiotocid Fishes of Oregon

Abstract

Diclidophora embiotocae sp. n. is described from adult specimens obtained from the gills of three species of embiotocid fishes from the central coast of Oregon. It differs from all other members of the genus in hosts, geographic location, and in possessing pre- and para-ovarian, as well as post-ovarian testes. Diagnosis of Diclidophora (Yamaguti 1963) is emended.
