Cosmocerca brasiliensis is redescribed on the basis of new specimens found in the large intestines of several species of frogs collected in Ecuador. This nematode is reported for the first time in Dendrobates parvulus, Eleutherodactylus sp., Hamptophryne bolivianus, Hyla boans, H. geographica, H. lanciformis, H. leucophyllata, H. marmorata, H. sarayacuensis, Ischnocnema quixensis, and Phyllo- medusa tarsius, and for the first time in Ecuador.
