Abstract

The tract of elm-maple forest northeast of Urbana, Illinois, and owned by the state university, has been the field of a number of quantitative studies in animal ecology by Weese ('24), Blake ('26) and Smith (I928, I930). The present investigation covers the period from Mlarch 9 to June I, I925, intervening between the close of the published work of Blake and the beginning of that of Smith. SCOPE OF WORK
