Abstract

In this paper an overview of official regulations on the protection of lichens in the Republic of Serbia is presented, and provisions of individual regulations are analyzed. Also, the effects of adopted regulations on the protection of endangered species of lichens are discussed and general measures to improve the protection of lichens in the future are proposed. Finally, the need for further studies on lichens is suggested as a basis for their effective protection and conservation.
