Partner violence among women in Sonora is slightly higher than among Mexican women in general; in order to analyze and identify its main characteristics, we use data provided by the National Survey of Domestic Relationship Dynamics (ENDIREH 2003). Physical and sexual violence were less prevalent, compared to emotional and economic violence, which until recently have been concealed. We emphasize the importance of measuring these aggressive behaviors which are not easily identified.
