Estructura Interna y Relación con la Deseabilidad Social de una Escala de Psicopatía Basada en el NEO PI-R

Abstract

Sanz-García et al. (2022) desarrollaron una escala de psicopatía (EP-NEO) basada en el Inventario de Personalidad NEO Revisado, pero no examinaron su estructura interna. Debido al engaño/manipulación característico de la psicopatía, sus medidas de autoinforme pueden verse muy afectadas por la deseabilidad social (DS). En el Estudio 1, se analizó la estructura interna de la EP-NEO en una muestra comunitaria de 682 adultos y, en el Estudio 2, su relación con la DS en otra similar de 239 adultos. La EP-NEO presentó una estructura de tres factores correlacionados (Interpersonal, Afectivo y Estilo de vida) semejantes a los del modelo de Hare. Se encontraron correlaciones significativas, moderadas-grandes e inversas con la DS (r=-.38/ -.66), pero no afectaban a la estructura interna de la EP-NEO. La EP-NEO proporciona medidas válidas de la psicopatía en adultos españoles evaluados en situaciones en las que no hay interés directo en distorsionar las respuestas.
