Abstract

Neste capítulo, apresentamos um estudo sobre as políticas para o cinema e o audiovisual em Portugal, procurando perceber quais as principais mudanças no que respeita ao financiamento à produção. Em termos metodológicos, recorremos à análise documental das principais políticas que regulamentam a área entre 2012 e 2022, à consulta de notícias publicadas no mesmo período, cartas assinadas por elementos do meio cinematográfico e ao visionamento de cinco audições parlamentares dos profissionais do setor, procurando evidenciar a relevância destas vozes no debate sobre o financiamento do cinema em Portugal. No final, o presente estudo salienta a necessidade de repensar de um modo integrado, estratégico e contínuo as políticas de financiamento para o cinema e o audiovisual em Portugal. Ao longo deste processo, procuramos cruzar, por um lado, a compreensão da realidade da vida cultural nacional, e, por outro, as carências e os desafios dos processos de financiamento, circulação e distribuição do cinema português.
