Abstract

Esta entrega de Cuentos felinos V está integrada por nueve textos e igual número de autores. Los cuentos, a pesar de abordar asuntos y ámbitos distintos, mantienen ciertas líneas comunes. El fracaso cruza y motiva la mayoría de sus tramas. Es una línea de producción dura, obsesiva y lúcida, que confirma la vocación indagadora y crítica que encuentro en los autores del Caribe colombiano en el manejo del cuento. En sus manos maestras el género es un vehículo dúctil al examinar las fisuras de las sociedades particulares en donde ellos se mueven. Esas grietas asumen las figuras explícitas de la denuncia social y la frustración amorosa y, en menor medida, la sensación de llegar tarde a alguna forma de verdad. Son imágenes o pulsiones, notorias en algunos textos, casi secretas en otros, que bien podrían leerse como las estaciones de un país perdido en su marcha de rutinas absurdas, anacrónicas. La de la región Caribe de Colombia continúa siendo una literatura en alza constante, que supera miedos y mitos. Queda solo esperar que haya cuentos felinos para rato.
