The world's oceans have reached their maximum sustainable yields and plankton for food. The US approach to the reduction in seafood is to reduce the amount of protection on endangered species while the East and West Coast US fisheries have collapsed and fish sit at the docks unwanted. A growth area for seafood harvests might be both Asia and South America since some of those areas have not emphasized seafood and aquacultural production and as the population in the US and EU increases so will the demand for seafood.
