Abstract

Land means those parts of the surface of the earth that are capable in law of being owned and are within the court jurisdiction. Generally, ownership of the lands includer the airspace above it and the subsoil below (a coelo usque and centrum; from the heaven to the centre of the earth). For the purposes of the land law, Land Act(Act no. 4 of 1999) defines land as including mines, and minerals(whether or not owned seperately from the surface), buildings, and most interest in land.
