Abstract

This paper offers a philosophical definition of the term "integrity". The term is often used positively as referring to a person or a corporation. But what does "integrity" mean exactly? Dictionary definitions are unhelpful. This paper draws on philosophical and theological traditions to show how integrity is connected to ideas of order, legitimacy, accountability, and wholeness.
