The energy crisis is one of the major catastrophes the world is combating presently. The crisis- a resultant of squandering energy, initiated at one’s condominium. The conventional wall switches situated at different parts of the wall make it strenuous and taxing for the elderly and differently – able people to operate them. The indecorous placements of the switches impede the above-focused population to operate them and henceforth, culminating in energy wastage. In this paper, the authors have proposed a system to combat the energy crisis, based on the Internet of Things, which is deputized to render a user- friendly and economical solution. This project mainly aims to the retired, old, physically challenged people or pregnant women, since this project reduces the work load to get up and to get down for switching the lights on and off, it might be simple for the younger people but is difficult for old age people and pregnant women. Also applying IoT makes it an energy saving option too.
