An educational synopsis of ancient Semitic linguistics is given, in terms of a simple compilation of facts. Special scientific attention is dedicated to the selection principles of human cultural evolution, with reference to the social interplay of linguistic and cognitive skills.The creative, free and spontaneous cultural leap in the cognitive evolution of natural language is highlighted and the common root of the various Semitic tongues is identified. Computational linguistics will help us in the nearer future to research deeper into this hidden mystery of human evolution as intelligent species.
