Dutch Abstract: Juridische documenten zoals wetgeving, jurisprudentie, beleidsdocumenten en academische publicaties kunnen worden gekarakteriseerd als legal big data, bestaande uit grote hoeveelheden (technisch gezien) ongestructureerde gegevens. Deze bijdrage onderzoekt wat legal big data is en welke nieuwe perspectieven dit met zich meebrengt voor juridisch onderzoek en de rechtspraktijk. English Abstract: Legal documents such as legislation, case law, policy documents and academic journal papers can be characterised as legal big data: it consists of large volumes of technically speaking unstructured data. This contribution examines what legal big data is and which new perspectives this entails for legal practitioners and legal research.
