This paper provides the baseline data on Rubber Plantations in Tripura. The paper was conceived as the major content of the First Technical Bulletin of Tripura Rubber Mission. The history of growth of rubber plantations in the state has been traced. Moreover, the extent of plantations at the sub-division level was made for the first time through this paper. The permit register of Rubber Board was traced since inception and the area was accumulated. Further, the paper provides with the economic analysis of the plantation and uses standard techniques like IRR, Payback period and NPV. The paper also provides the framework of public sector plantations in the state and attempts to find put the existing problems and future prospects of the sector.
