Abstract

English Abstract: This is a note on some notions on the methodology and philosophy of science put forward in cosmologist Lee Smolin's book 'Time Reborn'. Smolin's critique of the use of models in cosmological physics is related to some issues in the theory of grammatology, semiotics and communication — such as the confusion between the sign and the object, or the fallacy of the sole relevant context.
