Essence of the Holy Quran

Abstract

The Holy Quran has 114 Chapters (Sura) and over 6000 Verses (Ayats). In 623 AD, 45 devotees of the Prophet Muhammad formed a brotherhood, by taking an oath of fidelity to the Prophet. They would sit near the entrance of the Prophet’s mosque at Madina, absorbed in contemplation. To them, God alone was perfect benevolence and love was the basis through which God could be understood and realized.Post September 11, we need to work on mitigating the radical element in all religions and, hence, here is a selection of certain Ayats (Verses) from the Holy Quran which are my favorite to create amity between various religions.
