Abstract : This Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering Technical Note (ERDC/CHL CHETN-IV-58) describes application of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) that can be trained to predict currents at an inlet located within a larger regional system, based on water level measurements at a different and possibly distant location. Once developed, ANNs reduce the need for field gauging, and information may be hindcast for sites where data do not exist or which have gaps in the historical record.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 2 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
