Abstract : A study was conducted to determine the feasibility of using small flame-activated thermoelectricgenerator systems to provide power for lighting small emergency shelters. Such systems were found feasible, and costs for a family-size and a 100-man shelter are given. Comparative merits and costs of other suitable systems are also given.
