Abstract The writers show that recent global warming of the Earth’s atmosphere is not due to increase in the man-induced carbon dioxide emission but rather to the long term global factors (such as increased solar activity). Rising global temperature drives very large volumes of CO2 from the ocean water to the atmosphere. The human contribution to the increase in CO2 content in the atmosphere is negligible in comparison. Thus, there will be no need to cut petroleum production and consumption in the near future.
