A Song of Ice and Fire, de George R. R. Martin: uma análise dialógica do peritexto da obra

Abstract

O presente artigo trata de parte de nossa pesquisa de doutorado, cujo recorte centra-se na análise comparativa do peritexto da obra A Song of Ice and Fire, do escritor George R. R. Martin. Nosso objetivo principal será o de apresentar os efeitos de sentido gerados pelas relações dialógicas entre esses enunciados, tanto em sua versão em inglês, quanto em sua re-enunciação em português. Para tanto, em nossa metodologia investigamos as capas e contracapas do primeiro e do quinto livros, observando os elementos verbo-visuais. Os resultados indicam que o peritexto ganha um tom mais comercial na obra em inglês, enquanto a adaptação brasileira apresenta menos elementos propagandísticos e uma maior preocupação artística; revelando considerar o fundo aperceptível de percepção dos leitores jovem-adultos, principalmente fãs de literatura fantástica.
