Effectiveness of Ta'bir As-Shuwar Strategy in Increasing Maharah Kalam at MTs Darul Hikmah Tulungagung

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of using the Ta'bir As-Shuwar strategy in improving students' speaking skills (maharah kalam) at MTs Darul Hikmah Tulungagung. The research method employed is quasi-experimental using a Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The study involves two classes as samples: an experimental class applying the Ta'bir As-Shuwar strategy and a control class using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Independent Sample T Test, and N-gain test. The research findings indicate a significant difference in the average learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Furthermore, the effectiveness of using the Ta'bir As-Shuwar strategy falls into the moderate category based on the N-gain results. Consequently, the study concludes that the use of the Ta'bir As-Shuwar strategy is effective in enhancing students' speaking skills at MTs Darul Hikmah Tulungagung
