Introduction: Visceral leishmaniasis causes alterations of lipid metabolism and associated with hypochlesterolemia and severe hypertriglyceridemia. Hepatic dysfunction and life threating hepatitis is associated with visceral leishmaniasis. Kidney damage is frequently associated with increased morbidity and mortality in visceral leishmaniasis patients. However there is no published data on the effect of visceral leishmaniasis to kidney, liver, and lipid profiles in Ethiopia particularly in the study area. Objective: To assess selected clinical chemistry test alterations and associated risk factors among visceral leishmaniasis patients attending at Kahsay Abera and Mearg Hospitals Western Tigrai, Northern Ethiopia from November 2018 -March 2019
