In recent years, an increasing number of reef managers and practitioners have started to share successes, failures, and challenges of coral restoration projects due to the urgency to act in response to the impacts of climate change. The absence of a nationwide plan regarding the monitoring and reporting of restoration and rehabilitation efforts within the Republic of Maldives has been recognized as the key limiting factor for the coordination and effectiveness of efforts in these activities. Therefore, MaRHE Centre and MMRI have developed this document as a tool to guide and lead the parties within this field in order to cope with and overcome this limitation.
