
This paper presents an analysis of the documentary Nelson Freire (2003), focusing on the stylistic strategies employed by the film to visually represent the virtuosic performance of the Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire. By doing so, we intend to contribute to the general discussion about the multiple relations between music and cinema in the music documentary, a growing field of the documentary cinema in Brazil and abroad.
