The paper examines urban integration of archaeological heritage in the town of Zadar via analysis of the town’s history and urban development ; the history of archaeological research and archaeological heritage protection and preservation ; and the analysis of the relevant developed urban or spatial planning documents in relation to archaeological heritage. The history of archaeological research, of archaeological heritage protection and preservation and of urban and spatial planning in Zadar have not yet been systematically scientifi cally researched, and cover the period between the late 19th century (fi rst archaeological excavations) and 2015.
