Manejo de cubiertas en viñedos ecológicos con ‘roller crimper’. ¿Influye la fecha de terminación?

Abstract

En viñedos, las cubiertas vegetales chafadas con el rolo-faca, o 'roller crimper', proporcionan un buen manejo de las malas hierbas, pero su efectividad depende de la especie sembrada y del momento de su finalización. Con este fin se ha realizado un experimento en viñedos (Vitis vinifera) ecológicos ubicados en Raimat (Lleida). El estudio incluye ocho tratamientos (cuatro especies como cubierta vegetal con dos fechas de pase del ‘roller’) y un control sin cubierta sembrada, siguiendo un diseño en bloques completamente aleatorizados con tres repeticiones. Las especies sembradas a finales de octubre de 2022 fueron avena negra (Avena strigosa), cebada (Hordeum vulgare), raigrás (Lolium multiflorum) y triticale (×Triticosecale). En primavera, las cubiertas se chafaron con el rodillo en dos fechas distintas (BBCH 75 y 87). A lo largo del estudio se evaluó la presencia de malas hierbas, el recubrimiento del suelo y la producción de biomasa, tanto de la cubierta como de las hierbas estivales. Los resultados obtenidos durante la campaña 2022/23 indican que todas las cubiertas vegetales, excepto el raigrás, mostraron un buen recubrimiento del suelo. El menor porcentaje de recubrimiento de malas hierbas de invierno se encontró en las cubiertas de cebada y triticale. Todas las cubiertas vegetales, especialmente el raigrás, presentaron una reducción de biomasa de hierbas estivales comparado con el testigo. El recubrimiento de estas hierbas en junio no se vio afectado por la fecha de pase de ‘roller’. En julio, dicho recubrimiento fue menor en la segunda fecha de ‘roller’ solo para la cubierta de avena.
