Abstract

The purpose of the study is to systematize modern requirements for port infrastructure using the example of a bulk terminal for coal transshipment, and to propose a terminal certification tool. Tasks that were solved during the research: 1. Analysis of the state of the coal industry and the coal market in order to substantiate the relevance of the issue of sustainable design of bulk coal transshipment terminals. 2. Identification of modern requirements for port infrastructure facilities. 3. Development of a tool for certification of bulk terminals as a system of parameters for effective design and evaluation of port infrastructure in terms of: functional efficiency, efficiency and environmental friendliness of environmental management. 4. Assessment of the impact of the Vanino bulk terminal on the environment and testing of the proposed certification tool. The object of the study is the design of the port infrastructure. The subject of the study is modern aspects of the design of bulk terminals. Research methods: systematization, analysis and generalization of information on the research topic, methods of comparative analysis and concretization, decision-making. The masters thesis discusses the main trends in the development of the coal industry and coal cargo transportation, development prospects and modern aspects of designing bulk terminals for coal transshipment. A certification system is proposed based on modern requirements for terminals. On the example of a specific facility, the issue of the impact of the bulk coal terminal on the environment was considered and methods were proposed to reduce this impact. The results of the study can be used as a basis for further detailing the proposed certification system for coal terminals, as a system of parameters for assessing the sustainability of the design and development of port infrastructure.
