Abstract

The purpose of the masters thesis is devoted to the development of a prototype protocol for the interaction between the Cosmos and Ethereum blockchains. A review of the protocols of interaction between blockchains has been conducted, as well as their analysis. The analysis made it possible to choose the most appropriate protocol to achieve the goal of the masters thesis. An application has been designed and implemented that demonstrates the work of a protocol prototype, namely, the implementation of messaging between the Cosmos and Ethereum blockchains. The explanatory note contains four sections. The first section analyzes the existing protocols of interaction between blockchains. The specifics of the operation of each protocol are identified, as well as analyzed to choose the best protocol. The second section describes the requirements for the implemented application and describes the algorithm of the protocol prototype. The third section demonstrates the process of implementing the prototype of the IBC-based protocol between the Cosmos and Ethereum blockchains. The fourth section is testing the application, identifying the performance of operations performed between Cosmos and Ethereum blockchains. The masters thesis concludes with conclusions about the results achieved, as well as a complete list of sources used. The result of the work can be applied in various fields to ensure interaction between different blockchains.
