Abstract

Taking into account the path of Russian-African relations from peripheral to priority in foreign policy agendas, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study, identifying key benchmarks and strategic objectives, as well as defining the directions of concepts of economic interaction at each stage of development. The relevance of the study, in addition to the increased attention from the leading powers to the region, is due to the fact that Africa is a very heterogeneous continent from a political point of view, in which each of the countries has its own specifics, while collectively they represent an organized force that can have a real impact on global decisions. The following tasks were solved within the framework of the study: 1. to conduct a historical review of relations between Russia and Africa in the field of economics and trade; 2. to explore the political aspects of bilateral Russian-African relations in the XXI century; 3. to identify the main areas of economic cooperation; 4. to analyze Russias direct investments in African countries; 5. to formulate prospects for the development of relations between Russia and Africa in the field of economics and trade. Russia should pay attention to the African Union, which is the foundation of the economic development of the entire continent. In this case, it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the degree of coherence of the strategic priorities of Russia and the African Union, including paying attention to the issue of participation in projects implemented in accordance with the "Agenda 2063".
