The purpose of the work is to develop a project for the building of a high-rise hotel at St. Petersburg, Komendantsky Ave., 7, cadastral number: 78:34:0004281:34621 in accordance with the design assignment. The scheme of the planning organization of the site, architectural and constructive solutions, measures for fire safety and access for the disabled, technology and organization of construction, estimates for the construction of capital construction facilities have been developed. The purpose of the research part of the project is to design the building for progressive collapse, in which no additional safety measures are used. The work was performed using the SCAD++ program. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: 1. Analysis of research works on the topic of the relevance of progressive collapse; 2. Calculation of the building using the quasi-static and dynamic method of progressive collapse; 3. Analysis and comparison of the results obtained. In the course of the work, a search was made for scientific articles and reports on topics related to avalanche collapse, based on this, conclusions were made about the relevance of the topic and goals for study were set. The building was also calculated using two methods of progressive collapse, using the SCAD++ program, where the building is not able to withstand an avalanche-like collapse. In conclusion, a comparative analysis of the results obtained was carried out and additional design solutions were proposed.
