Abstract

The aim of the work is the theoretical study of entropy methods for quantifying image quality and comparing them with similar classical methods, studying image quality measures such as blur, image entropy, sharpness, noise level, as well as analyzing the use of image entropy (local entropy) to improve segmentation and image contrast. The object of the study are sets of images with varying degrees of contrast and noise levels. A method for improving images using an adaptive entropy threshold has been implemented. Dependences of image blur and entropy on contrast and noise level are revealed.
