Abstract

The 35 kV electric substation №18 “Red Triangle” was chosen as a project site. The purpose of the work is to modernize the electric substation by upgrading the voltage type and replacing obsolete equipment with new and modern ones using innovative materials. Thesis objectives are as follows: − The initial ES state description with a list of basic electrical equipment; − Rationale for the ES voltage type upgrade and reconstruction; − The basic equipment with 110 kV voltage selection; − The circuit switchgear of 110 kV selection; − The power-system protection engineering analysis; − The labor protection and safety features at the ES; In the course of the work, the technology of electric substation reconstruction was studied, the skill of design calculating and selecting electrical equipment for specified conditions and magnitudes via the use of knowledge about the various materials and installations relevance was reinforced. As a result, the work is aimed at improving the overall reliability of the “Red Triangle” ES, the quality of power transmission between consumers, costeffectiveness, and power delivery optimization.
