The training manual corresponds to the content of the discipline “Heat pumps†for the majors 13.03.01 “Heat Power Engineering†and 13.03.93 “Power Engineeringâ€. The manual allows studying thermodynamics, types, and features of heat pumps, their application in various heat supply schemes. The authors give calculation of vapor-compression heat pumps, consider the economic indicators which influence the choice and placement of heat pump equipment. The manual presents the history of heat pumps in the national and international practice. The authors discuss the prospects of development and advantages of heat supply systems using heat pumps. It is intended for students of the Institute of Energy of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. It is of interest for graduate students and experts who solve problems of heat supply.
