The training manual considers the origin and development of such a course as scientometrics, its connection with other sciences; the analysis of its object, subject, functions, methods, and categories is carried out. Besides, the authors analyze the tools used by scientometrics and the application of scientometric indicators when considering and evaluating scientific activity.
