CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE DOGMATISMO TEÓRICO NO BEHAVIORISMO RADICAL

Abstract

O dogmatismo teórico, entendido como aceitação inquestionável de uma teoria e rejeição a priori de todas as outras, e o ecletismo teórico, compreendido como uso indiscriminado de conceitos, linguagens, procedimentos, métodos, técnicas e instrumentos produzidos por diferentes perspectivas teóricas, são posicionamentos comuns na Psicologia. Ambas as posições tendem a dificultar o diálogo produtivo entre as diferentes teorias psicológicas. Este ensaio visou identificar possíveis posições dogmáticas entre behavioristas radicais, discutir algumas possíveis implicações do dogmatismo para o behaviorismo radical e indicar alternativas que não incorram nem no dogmatismo e nem no ecletismo teórico. Foram apontados indícios de dogmatismo teórico na literatura, demonstrados pela crítica a diversas teorias sem citação explícita dos autores criticados, e em certas incompreensões acerca das relações entre behaviorismo radical e behaviorismo watsoniano e psicanálise. Por fim, sugere-se o diálogo, por meio do exame das histórias das diversas perspectivas teóricas, de seus pressupostos filosóficos e de estudos produzidos por seus membros, para possibilitar a reflexão crítica acerca da teoria behaviorista radical e das práticas derivadas dela.Palavras-chave: análise do comportamento, behaviorismo radical, comportamentalismo, dogmatismo, formação do psicólogo, Skinner, teoria psicológica.
