Abstract

Artykuł ukazuje siedemnastowieczne kazania pogrzebowe jako istotne medium służące legitymizacji władzy szlacheckiej. Autor tekstu zwraca uwagę na rolę, jaką w tego typu oracjach pełniła heraldyka, szlachecki mit założycielski czy też obraz cnoty reprezentowanej przez osobę zmarłego. Elementy te analizowane są jako chwyty mające zapewnić ciągłość i trwałość władzy szlacheckiej.
