Abstract

I denne artikkelen undersøker jeg hvilke sammenhenger det er mellom Nick Caves Seven Psalms og Salmenes bok. Cave viderefører flere tema som spiller en sentral rolle i Salmene. Mens noen av hans salmer står i et spenningsforhold til den opprinnelige salmeteksten, sprenger han i andre av sine Seven Psalms rammene for det bibelske språket. Noe av det mest sentrale i Caves nyskrevne salmer er en kristen resepsjon av Salmenes bok, med et markant innslag av tema fra den kristne mystikken.
