Abstract

The article presents the background that forced the pioneers of modernism to reconsider the previous approach to design and to formulate new principles of architecture. The analysis of the works of Russian and foreign philosophers and theorists of architecture made it possible to identify the principles and methods of the interaction of modern architecture with the context and to note the inconsistency of these relationships.
