Psicopatología de las sectas religiosas

Authors: Andrés Tornos;

Psicopatología de las sectas religiosas

Abstract

In the first part of his article, the author notes the existence of two important approaches to the phenomenon of sectarianism: that of the media, with a clear orientation towards sensationalism and another more detailed reading offered by sociologists and other social scientists. He then goes on to revise three other important arguments —the psychopathological focus, that of social deviation, and a contextualized focus— without omitting treatment of the more polemic aspects of the subject of study under analysis.
