The paper determines the overlap (or lack thereof) between Daničić’s eastern neoštokavian accentuation and the accentuation of Mažuranić’s Slovnica Hèrvatska and it is shown that Mažuranić’s grammar, which is the first extensive description of the accentual patterns of standard Croatian, belongs to western neoštokavian circle. The focus of the study is the accentual typology and the morphological accentual patterns of nouns, adjectives and verbs.
