Prevalência de HPV em amostras cérvico-vaginais no Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Introdução: o câncer de colo de útero é considerado um problema de saúde pública mundialmente. Seu diagnóstico é realizado através do exame citopatológico (EC) e seu desenvolvimento está relacionado à infecção pelo Papiloma Vírus Humano (HPV). Objetivo: estabelecer prevalência de diferentes genótipos de HPV em amostras cérvico-vaginais no Rio Grande do Sul. Método: foi realizada uma revisão da literatura e visando alcançar o máximo de sensibilidade na estratégia de busca, foram utilizados os seguintes descritores: "Papillomavirus Infections", "genotypes", “Rio Grande do Sul”, “Brazil” e "uterine cervical neoplasms", obtida da MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). Resultados: a pesquisa eletrônica foi realizada por meio da estratégia supracitada e foram encontrados 34 estudos. Após a revisão dos resumos, oito artigos elegíveis foram escolhidos e mais três foram selecionados de forma manual. Os artigos elegíveis para inclusão nesta revisão descrevem qualquer possível relação entre Papilomavirus Humano, genótipos, estado do Rio Grande do Sul no Brasil e Câncer Cervical. Considerações finais: os genótipos mais prevalentes no Rio Grande do Sul continuam sendo os incluídos nas vacinas disponíveis pelo Ministério da Saúde e a prevenção secundária segue sendo uma estratégia para rastreamento e diagnóstico de alterações citopatológicas.
