Harmonics Modeling Techniques for Inverter Based Generation Resources

Abstract

Inverter based generation resources utilize voltage source converter schemes that require more advanced modeling methodologies compared to the simple current source models that are traditionally used for harmonic loads. These panel presentations will illustrate harmonics studies examples of IBR plants, the source characteristics of voltage source converters, and modern software tools used for this analysis.
